Collection Overview Laura Griffin (1960-1996) was killed by a hit and run driver while she was jogging in 1996. The State Legislature quickly increased the penalties for hit and run drivers, and the Governor awarded the Order of the Palmetto for Griffin's work against substance abuse. The papers consist of two unpublished manuscripts on poetry. The first manuscript "Poetry parts or the grammar of poetry" and the second manuscript "Poetry patterns (explicitly explained)" define the different forms and structures of poetry using poems of well-known and obscure poets. Both manuscripts include a typescript and a carbon copy. Included in the manuscripts are two 1922 photographs of Miss Theodore and ten drawings from her "Do You Know" series.
