Volume 1 (1864 Jan. 1-Dec. 31) contains brief daily entries concerning the weather, promotions, camp locations, transfers of men, and other activities. In the back of the volume are brief accounts for amounts received and paid. Volume 2 (1864 July 27-Aug 31) provides more detailed accounts of Kelly's activities.
