Abstract
The collection consists of an invitation to a grand Purim masquerade ball at the Academy of Music on March 24, 1902. The ball was sponsored by the Hebrew Benevolent Society of Orangeburg, South Carolina, and printed on the invitation is a photograph of winners from the previous year's costume contest, among them Julia Peterkin, who, in 1929, won a Pulitzer Prize for literature.
