Also included are materials relating to his extended family and their surrounding areas, especially the Townsend family, Medway Plantation, Edisto Island, Charleston, South Carolina.

Marjorie Amos-Frazier (1926-2010) was a Civil Rights activist and politician in Charleston, South Carolina. She was the first woman elected to serve on the Charleston County Council in 1974.
