Biographical Note

Esther Ann Solomons (b. 1849) began recording the Ramsay family genealogy in her Bible after her marriage to Dr. George Randolph Ramsay (b. 1828) in 1870. The Ramsay family has since continued this tradition with a detailed record of births, marriages, and deaths; a timeline spanning from 1828 up through 2001. The Solomons family can be traced back a bit further to about 1771 when Saul Solomons' (Esther Ann's grandfather) was born in Leipzig, Germany.
