Includes an approximately 6 hour long oral history interview with Morton Shapiro recorded by Joella Werin between January 31 and February 10 1997. Topics include his childhood, his education, and his career working with labor unions, notably the International Ladies Garment Workers Union and Service Employees Union, his role in the civil rights movement, the role of Jews in the civil rights movement, and relations between Jews and African Americans in the South.
