Virginia Mixson Geraty (1915-2004) was born in Summerville, South Carolina to Edward Miles Mixson and his wife Ethel Sarah Ray Mixson. Geraty attended Immaculate Catholic School at Hendersonville, North Carolina, where her family lived during part of her childhood.
