Lists of schools in the directory in alphabetical order. Level order indicates types of schools: Parochial, Private, and Public. Also includes "Alphabetical Index" on index cards.

Holds "final drafts" of the directory.

This series provides an orientation to the directory project with correspondence, the formation of the directory with several drafts, research documents of photocopied book excerpts and essays and various notes.

Photocopies of chapters used in research: "Mayor Courtenay's Annual Review: Education in Charleston."

Holds photocopy of "Extract from the Report of Committee to the City Board of School Commissioners."
