The bulk of materials are correspondence regarding Dr. Brown’s work at Avery as the Director of Exhibits and Museum Education.

Scope and Contents Dr. Brown was the BICEP '76 Area Coordinator for South Carolina. She organized a high school competition around the theme of “Blacks and the Revolution” for which students were invited to submit creations in art, crafts, literature, or music categories. Submissions were judged and 40 students were selected as winners. Students then traveled to Philadelphia for the Bicentennial celebrations.
