Bicentennial Committee for Educational Programs, 1975-1976
Scope and Contents
Dr. Brown was the BICEP '76 Area Coordinator for South Carolina. She organized a high school competition around the theme of “Blacks and the Revolution” for which students were invited to submit creations in art, crafts, literature, or music categories. Submissions were judged and 40 students were selected as winners. Students then traveled to Philadelphia for the Bicentennial celebrations. Materials include correspondence, forms, clippings, promotional material, and evaluations of submissions.
