Abstract

This is an official diplomatic communication transcript from the Hungarian Minister in Washington DC, informing Magdalen Meyer about a change in responsibility at the consulate in Charleston, SC. The letter explains that the consulate is now being authorized by a German official. The new official is asking Ms. Meyer to hand over: 1. The offical Consulate Seal (used for notirizing). 2. Any other official consulate items that she used in operations. On February 19, 1881, this transfer was completed and a reciept was promised to be sent over to the Austro-Hungarian Diplomatic Office in Washington DC.
