This collection consists of a copy of the program for an exhibition held by the senior class of South Carolina College on May 9th and 10th, 1844. "Order of exercises for May 9th: Latin Oration—Napolean in Insula Sanctæ Helenæ Exul (P.H. Nelson); Reciprocal relation between Public Opinion and Legislation (J. Ball); Effects of the present diffusion of Cheap Literature (S.E. Caughman); Influence on the Works of Johnson and Gibbon, on English Style (W.F.B. Haynsworth); Moore's Epicurean examined (J.H. Logan); Toleration in Heathen and Christian Nations Compared (C.P. Gadsen); Literary Character of Macauley (Wm. McK. Parker).; Order of exercises for May 10th: What are the Circumstances in the Progress of Nations which have usually led to Colonization? (R.W. Denton); Revocation of the Edict of Nantes (A.H.
