Property conveyance and plat, 1747, 1753
Collection Overview
On July 5, 1753 Hugh Bryan, planter and attorney for Reverend George Whitefield, late of Prince William Parish and now of the Parish of Saint Luke in the County of Middlesex, conveyed to Mary Bryan, Joseph Bryan's widow, a 640 acre plantation named Providence on Indian lands on the east side of the Pocotaligo River in Prince William Parish. This two page document was witnessed by Ann Bryan and William Williamson. This tract was conveyed to Reverend Whitefield by Joseph and Mary Bryan on December 22, 1747.; Included with the conveyance is a plat for 660 acres bought by Reverend George Whitefield from Joseph Bryan and surveyed by William McPherson on December 29, 1747.
