Collection Overview

From the Collection:

At least six unrelated projects are represented: (1) "Crystal Lake Country Club..., S. Lapham, Jr., designer. Akron, Ohio, March 1919." Plan and elevation (2 drawings). These two drawings are the only known examples of Lapham's work to survive from the period before his partnership with Simons. (2) Two inked plans (1 drawing) by Albert Simons for two floors of a house, 16 November 1923. (3) "Pedestals for Sculpture at Gibbes Art Gallery, Charleston, South Carolina" by Albert Simons, August 1, 1923 (two designs for pedestals). (4) "Design for marker at Memorial Avenue, Charleston, S.C. Prepared for Ladies Auxiliary, Charleston Post No. 10 American Legion" by Albert Simons, 3 & 4 August 1923. (5) Designs for the Ashley River Bridge including a pier with architectural elements and various designs for lamp posts (7 drawings), 1925. (6) Miscellaneous drawings (4 items) including plans of gardens, signs, and sun dials. Two are signed by Simons and dated 1952.
