Collection Overview
Assorted family photographs and personal and legal papers relating to Solomon Heydenfeldt, first elected justice and first Jewish justice to the Supreme Court of California. Papers consist primarily of approximately 350 black and white photographs, mostly from the turn of the century of family and friends related to the Heydenfeldts. Some are identified; many are not. Papers also include clippings related to the Heydenfeldt family, newspapers containing birth announcements, genealogical information, a few letters of Eva Heydenfeldt, and assorted legal documents.
