With detailed descriptions of city sights, populations, manners, social customs. In US, he mentions many other Jewish families, such as Pembers, Tobiases, Hendrickses, etc. With a letter of introduction from "Jeff Davis," Lazarus went to Heidelberg to study; descriptions of lectures, a High Holy Day Service, the situation of Jews; 100th anniversary celebration birth of Schiller, sexual mores of Heidelberg, and many other topics.
