Scope and Contents

From the Series:

Jeb & Dash: A Diary of Gay Life, 1918-1945, is a fictionalized version of the diaries of Carter Bealer (1899-1965), published by his niece Ina Russell. Zeigler was friends with Bealer (aka Jeb Alexander) and Isham Perkins (aka C.C. Dasham), and Zeigler appears in the published version of the diaries under the pseudonym Nicky Bowman. Russell discovered that Zeigler was still alive after the book was published. Zeigler corresponded with her about the book, Bealer, and their circle of friends at the time. Zeigler also corresponded with playwright Michael Conley, who developed the book into a play. This series also includes correspondence with Dean Alcorn, a researcher of the book.
