Collection Overview On July 5, 1753 Hugh Bryan, planter and attorney for Reverend George Whitefield, late of Prince William Parish and now of the Parish of Saint Luke in the County of Middlesex, conveyed to Mary Bryan, Joseph Bryan's widow, a 640 acre plantation named Providence on Indian lands on the east side of the Pocotaligo River in Prince William Parish.
