Abstract Inez A. Richardson, born in 1911, was the first licensed Black female barber in South Carolina. This collection concentrates primarily on Inez Richardson, however it also includes documents pertaining to the rest of the Richardson family. The collection documents Richardson’s involvement in the Rose of Sharon Tent, Southern District No. 4, from 1952 to 1984.
