Herbert A. DeCosta, Jr. (1923-2008) was a renowned African American architect and contractor based in Charleston, South Carolina. While he served as president of the H. A. The Gadsden Funeral Home was founded in 1902 by Eugene Gadsden (1866-1928) as the Eugene Gadsden Company. It was one of the first funeral homes for African Americans in Charleston.
