Abstract
John Henry McCray discusses co-founding the South Carolina Progressive Democrats and what they achieved; sending delegates to the Democratic National Convention beginning in 1944 in protest of the all-white South Carolina Democratic Party; resistance to the Civil Rights Movement; and how Reconstruction affected South Carolina.
The oral history is conducted by an unidentified person.
