Abstract
Joseph Arthur Brown discusses why he decided to attend the South Carolina Voices of the Civil Rights Movement Conference; segregation at the Munincipal Golf Course and the effort to desegregate Edisto State Park; his involvement with the legal battle against segregation including the court case to desgregate Charleston public schools with his daughters; how the Ku Klux Klan and White Citizens Council in Charleston reacted to the Civil Rights Movement; and, the ways he viewed the North as also being segregated.
The oral history is conducted by an unidentified person.
