Abstract
"Acting Black is a solo performance work that is part spoken word, part stand-up comedy, part Ted Talk, part rant crossing styles between Richard Pryor and the monologist Lord Buckley to examine and riffon the roots of American racism and its effect on our personal and national behavior. "Acting Black is a solo performance that explores the appropriation of the African American narrative through performance, demonstrating the nature of ts myth, its construction of meaning and its evolving behavior."
