Abstract
"This play is an adaptation from an unfinished novella by Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin, based on the life of his maternal great-grandfather, the African born Ibrahim Petrovich Hannibal. Taken to Russia as contraband in the late 1600's Ibrahim Petrovich eventually acquired the title of "Godson of the Czar" in the Court of Peter the Great. It was a world of passion, intrigue, duels and betrayal."
