The papers consist of correspondence, newspaper clippings, compilations, and miscellaneous papers related to Grant's work in the Episcopal Church and in the East Side of Charleston, including information regarding black Episcopalians in the United States and conferences for the Diocese of South Carolina, papers regarding St. John's Mission Center (at old St. John's Episcopal Church, Charleston) and its financial status and various outreach programs, papers regarding the renovation (1980s) of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, and papers regarding the various civic and social organizations of which Grant was a member. Photographs depict Grant at work among his parishioners and include photographs of his friends and associates, including an autographed photo of Representative James Clyburn (Democrat, SC).
