Photographs, mostly black and white but a few in color, collected by the Mazo and Spikler families. Some come from albums compiled by Florence Mazo Nirenblatt. Images consist of portraits and candids from family events and vacations; the majority are unlabeled.

Biographical Note

The collection documents the Mazo family of Charleston, South Carolina, including three brothers, Elihu (1876-1939), Dave (1877-1954), and George (1879-1951), who immigrated to Charleston from Minsk. Each brother ran a deliā€”one uptown, one downtown, and one on Folly Beach. Florence Mazo Nirenblatt (1911-1998) was the daughter of Elihu.
