Scope and Contents
Numerous photographs of L. Mendel Rivers attending a ceremony held by the Nationals Capital Chapter of the Air Force Association of the United States where Rivers received the Distinguished American Award. Also pictured are Vice-President Spiro Agnew, Margaret Rivers Eastman (L. Mendel River's daughter), Robert Eastman (Rivers' grandson), and Margaret Middleton Rivers (wife). Also included are a program booklet for the ceremony and a signed photograph from Medal of Honor recipient Major Bernard F. Fisher.
