Abstract The Rosenwald Schools Initiative was founded by Tuskegee Institute founder, Booker T. Washington and Sears and Roebuck Co. president, Julius Rosenwald in 1912. South-Carolina Society records consist of typewritten, annotated transcriptions of minutes compiled as a W.P.A. project from 1935 to 1937. Born in Jamaica, Jacob De Leon married Hannah Hendricks of New York in 1789. The couple settled in South Carolina and had eight children. Twenty page typescript traces descendants of this family from the late 18th to mid-20th century.
