James Adger Smyth papers

Collection Overview The collection consists of the handwritten text of two speeches delivered by Smyth at the College of Charleston. The first speech is titled "Public Opinion," and was given at the college on March 6th, 1857. In it, Smyth describes the power of public opinion to shape the actions of governments.
